Do I need a referral to see a Sport and Exercise Physician?
A referral from a medical practitioner (GP or other Specialist) is preferred but not essential. A referral from a medical practitioner is necessary to obtain your full entitled Medicare rebate. We are happy to see you if you have been referred by your physiotherapist or other health professionals, however, you will receive a lower rebate from Medicare. You will still receive the same quality care with or without a referral.
Do you bulk bill?
We do not Bulk Bill. Dr Luke Eggleston is a Private Sport and Exercise Physician and all consultation and treatment fees will be payable at the time of your appointment. Some services will generate a Medicare Rebate and this can generally be claimed at the time of payment on the invoice. With most services, there will be an out of pocket expense. We offer a reduced fee on consultation and services fees for Queensland Government Pension Cardholders, please mention your eligibility at your time of booking.
Where are you located?
Dr Luke Eggleston consults out of rooms in the Pacific Private Clinic in Southport and the Allsports Physiotherapy & Sports Medicine Clinic in Parkwood. Both have parking on site. Once your appointment has been made, you will receive an email from our rooms confirming the location of your appointment and the parking information.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Please bring any medical practitioner or health practitioner referral letters as well as any blood test results or radiology reports you may have been given.
Please bring any x-rays or scans you have been given, however, if you were not given any, do not worry, Dr Eggleston can access most imaging online.
Where possible, please wear shorts for lower limb injuries or a sleeveless top or sports bra for upper limb injuries.
Please ensure that you have completed your Patient Details Form online via the link you will be sent at the time of booking. If your injury is a result of a Workplace Accident, you will be required to complete the Workcover section of that online form.
What are your fees?
Our fees vary depending on the service provided. Please discuss these with reception at the time of booking as required.
How long are appointments?
New appointments for one problem are 40 minutes. The duration of follow-up consultations are generally 20 to 30 minutes but vary depending on the problem.
